Prioritizing Time with God

The wisest thing that you can do to deepen your relationship with God is to prioritize spending time with Him. If you are serious about putting God first in your life, this is a must. If the excuse “I’m too busy” stops you from doing this, then I encourage you to reschedule, reprioritize, or even plan to get up a little earlier in the morning to have some quality alone time with God. It will be the best investment of your time that you will ever make. I am not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, and yes, I do miss the odd morning now and again, but I find if I do, that my day doesn’t flow as well as when I start it in the presence of God. It’s not even about whether my day goes well or not, that is just the fruit of practicing this discipline. It is, however, all about honoring God by giving Him the first fruits of my time each day. At first, it seemed like a sacrifice, but now it is a joy! Over the next few months I will build on what we have discussed today, but for now start here, by prioritizing time with God each day. Even if you start with just a few minutes, it will be a game changer for your life!
