Reflection

Over the last few days as I have been reflecting on 2022, the highs, the lows, and everything else in between, I can see how much I have grown in God, but if I’m honest, I can also see how much I still rely on my own strength to do things. I don’t know about you, but I find myself flicking in and out of being led by the Spirit and then reverting back to doing things how I think they should be done. Holy Spirit highlighted this to me not to condemn me in any way but as an invitation to even greater intimacy and continued growth.

He reminded me of the scripture in Psalm 46:10 NKJV, Be still and know that I am God. It is ”knowing” Him that is key. When you know someone well, it is from your heart, from a place of connection, and from your spirit. It isn’t something you have to think about with your mind, you just know them. Jesus was explaining to me that this is the place we need to live from, a place of knowing, a place of deep connection with Him. Not from a place of trying to grasp Him with our minds. He reminded me that it’s not by might, nor by power but by His Spirit that we are to live. As we do this our minds will be transformed and come into alignment with our spirit which is one with the Holy Spirit. This process is described perfectly in Romans 12:2 in The Passion Translation:

Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.

Wow! That is a scripture to meditate on! The key here is that the Holy Spirit will transform us from the inside out and totally change the way we think.  Isaiah 55:9 NKJV says:

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

So, when we allow the Holy Spirit to renew our minds we will begin to think as Jesus thinks because we have the mind of Christ. We begin to think from heaven to earth rather than from earth to heaven. Our hearts and our minds begin to expand, and impossibilities suddenly become possible. We begin to move out of the world systems which are failing and step into kingdom living. We begin to arise and shine as the Lord’s glory is seen upon us! Yes please, Lord!

So, as you celebrate Christmas and reflect on your year, continue to allow the Holy Spirit to renew your mind, as you shine God’s light and step into kingdom living.

Merry Christmas!
